Day 29: Black Skirt, Orange Scarf

Scarf: BCDG, Top: Target, Skirt: Banana Republic, Belt: "Borrowed" from brother's closet, Shoes: Me too via Marshall's

First day of "stay-cation"....hung out with the bf and took care of some maintenance things around the apartment...like finally taking out the compost (we've been putting it off for almost 2 weeks because its been so cold, but today it finally made it up into the 40's yay!)

Tonight = more celebration!
It's Girl's Night Out and I. Can't. Wait!!!!!!

By the way - I can't believe tomorrow is Day 30 of my 30 for 30. I also can't believe that we're already more than a week into December. Holy Manoley!

Day 28: Vacation Kick Off w/ Another Friday Date Night!!

Top: Banana Republic, Belt: Thrifted, Skirt: Zara, Shoes: Apt.9 via Kohl's

I got off work at lunch time today and it was the start of my week long personal vacation....or I guess I should say "stay-cation" because I'm not going anywhere. I'm still very excited to sleep in and stay up late every night though!
Really though I'm looking forward to being able to decorate the apartment, get some holiday shopping done and finally get to work on all those crafty projects I have piling up in the corner!
So without further ado to kick off the start of my "stay-cation" we're having another Friday night date night! WHOA - can't wait - so hungry!

Day 27: Versatility

Sweater: Gap, Belt: Italian Flea Market, Skirt (dress): BCDG, Boots: Clarks

I am really thrilled with how versatile I have found this dress to be. I bought it from a shop in our town just before the 30 for 30 challenge started. I paid around $40 for it and it was on sale. My mom probably just fell off her chair if she's reading this. Yes Mom I paid $40 for it! You see, I'm...well..."cheap". I have a hard time justifying paying more than $20 for just about anything because I find such great deals at thrift stores all the time. But thankfully my lovely friend K.T. talked me into this one. I have been able to remix this dress four times now and I still have lots of other ideas for this item up my sleeve when I'm allowed to access the rest of my closet. Here is a look at the other ways I previously managed to wear this lovely number...

Day 26: No Happy Medium

Top: Zara, Jeans: Gap, Boots: Clarks, Purse: Thrifted, Earrings: Old Navy

Today I was cold. This is not unusual, as I tend to like the temperature in our office a few degrees (by few I mean at least 10) warmer than my co-workers, but today I spent the entire morning sitting at my desk in my winter coat. And yes my desk is indoors and away from doors and windows. So to try and cure my frigid fingers and toes I made myself and steaming hot bowl of delicious tomato soup! Gosh was it yummy – but 2/3rds of the way through it I was SO warm that I had to take off both my coat and sweater and actually considered going outside to cool down. I may have even broken a sweat. And of course, without fail, ten minutes later I’m freezing again – no happy medium! L

When I have children....

...I want a nursery that looks something like this!
That book wall is to die for!
The striped ceiling is pretty fun too and slightly unexpected!

Day 25: I'm not adjusting well

Top: Target, Sweater: Zara, Skirt: Zara, Shoes: Apt.9 via Kohl's, Necklace: gifted

Believe it or not I'm wearing stockings (nude) with this outfit, although the pictures appear as though I'm not. I would be crazy not to - it's not going to be climbing out of the 30's today and that's way too cold for no stockings. I am not thrilled about this fact. I'm pretty sure I go through this every year. In the summer I am miserable because my body stinks big time at regulating body temperature...and confession: I'm disgustingly sweaty for a girl. I spend all summer talking about how much I love winter more than summer...I tell people "you can always put on more clothes to be warm, but can't take off more to get cool." But then inevitably winter rolls around and rears it's ugly head and again I am reminded that I like winter no more than I like summer because again my body can't regulate it's temperature and I'm freezing all the time and have a constant runny nose. It's really a lose lose situation I think. I'm seriously considering relocating. Somewhere that has constant year round moderate temperatures...anybody know somewhere like that?

24 grams and a 17lb Turkey!

Top: Target, Jacket: Gap, Pants: Banana Republic, Boots: Kmart, Scarf: Thrifted

I faced the elements today and it was freezing! But in an attempt to be a good girlfriend I decided to go out and pick up some fresh veggies from Produce Junction for our turkey dinner tonight. I walked out with 5lbs. of yellow onions and 6lbs. yams for only $3.00! I also managed to score myself a free turkey from the grocery store over Thanksgiving and tonight we're having another turkey dinner...cross your fingers folks because I had a heck of a time getting a 17lb. turkey into the oven all on my own! I guess I need to work on my upper body strength.

Another Day at the Office - Day 23

Top: Kmart, Sweater: Vera Wang via Kohl's, Pants: Banana Republic, Shoes: Me Too via Marshall's

I'm amazed I even managed to get clothes on myself before I walked out the door this morning I was so tired after last night's escapades. I think I actually put together a half decent outfit given the state I was in. In retrospect I think it could definitely use a necklace of some sort, but I did find those hoop earrings in my purse which I think helped me look a bit more put together.

On a brighter note, it's SUNDAY - which means COUPONS! I'm a coupon junkie if you haven't already noticed...and if you haven't you now know. Today my delivery lady definitely made up the past few weeks of mishandled papers.

I have the Sunday paper delivered to my apartment. It costs me $0.25 more than if I went to the store I bought it, but on snow days when I don't want to step foot outside the comfort of my cozy couch, it's well worth the extra quarter. Anyway, the past three weeks I have been shorted coupon circulars (proof of what I junkie I am, I preview them HERE before they even are released so I know what to expect). Today however I was not only delivered all the proper coupon circulars but extra copies as well! Needless to say I was elated, especially because this week included some killer coupons!

Happy Sunday everyone - Hope you had a nice weekend!
